Krispy Kreme 5K
Newnan’s 15K yesterday means I’m doing this tomorrow!
“So here’s how it works everyone, We will be doing a 5K on the track, starting 200m back from the usual start line. Once you hit the start line you eat a donut. Then at each lap you will eat another donut. Eat a jelly filled and get a 15s bonus per lap.
So if you feeling feisty, meet at Krispy Kreme on the corner...

Had a great run this morning!
Where are all our runners? Would be great to hear from someone. I could use the motivation.

6 miles last night followed by 8 this morning. Yesterday was easy. Today was a lot harder. I think I need to increase my water intake and maybe even my calories. No energy and my weight is down again.
An easy 6 miles done today. Planning on 8 in the morning, assuming the weather cooperates.
Started training today
Officially started training for the Marine Corp Marathon this October. First week is basically a warmup then full on training begins immediately after. It’s going to be a busy summer and fall with our schedules but we are committed to making it a great race with respectable times.
Hope to set a goal time within the next week or so and will report along the way how we are progressing.

Finally, back on the wagon.
And then there was Bicycle
I won’t lie, I have been doing a lot more biking than running. Sure running is great, but for some reason I have been biking up a storm and I don’t want to stop. You can travel great distances (55+ miles on the I&M canal last week), work on your speed, and its easier to talk with someone while riding than it is running.
I’m going to come back to running, I swear it, but...
Hungover feeling day after a run?
Anyone else felt like this? I knocked out 6 miles last night and feel mildly hungover today. Had the same sensation a few days ago the day after my run. I know I’m getting enough water. I haven’t been drinking alcohol either. Thoughts?

Fitted Shoes.

Cannot Wait to get shoes fitted for my feet this weekend!
I bought my shoes there recently and although the guy is really cool there, they are not fitted for your feet. He basically looks at your feet, finds your week points and give you a shoe that he think will help with those issues. You can also buy some overpriced inserts....
36,000 Shufflers in Chicago
And I was one of them. It was a good and only semi cold morning. I had some shin issues early on, but by mile 2 I felt like my old self again. Hope everyone had a good time.

Day before a race?
What should I do to prepare the day before my 8K? Should I go for a short jog? Should I eat a spaghetti dinner? Not quite sure what to do?!?!
My run today...
So I was determined to jog today for 55 minutes….. Well I made 20 minutes haha. I guess I psyched myself out. But, I did end up walking for about an hour. This ever happen to anyone else!
My race is Sunday and its 5 miles. I’m a little nervous I won’t finish because I have only made 6 miles on the treadmill. Running outside is so different—So much harder!

spryfeet:
Local specialty stores are valuable to runners and walkers, for many reasons, but especially for shoes. This article explains why you should stay away from big-box stores and online stores for shoes for your running or walking and gives specific situations where buying online may make sense.

Does anyone have any favorites? Either because of an uptempo beat or lyrics/melody that gets you fired up?
I’ve noticed lately that i’m hitting the skip button a lot on my ipod and i think i need some new running music…
Song Title: Music

Find some trails near you and check them out! Some amazing opportunities. Try http://www.trails.com/ and immerse yourself in your surroundings. For those of you in Colorado check out http://www.go-colorado.com/Hiking/.
This looks like a great resource. The trails on the map show up with little icons to indicate whether they are hiking, biking, running, etc. trails. I could definitely...

Why do you run? I started running last year when I was trying to get in shape and signed up for a 5K with my sister. Now I run for the stress relief and the sense of accomplishment as well as the health benefits. I’m slow, but improving.
What are your current running goals? Complete two 10Ks; improve my 5K time; adjust to...

WARRIORS DASH
http://warriordash.com/index.php
If you prefer a little danger in your run, check out the Warrior dash. Its a 5k, but with the added excitement of wall climbs, mud crawls, and fire jumps. If your in the Chicagoland area, the next one is June 19-20 in Joliet. Its $65, but hey, I am willing to pay to prove myself to myself.
